Pheyland Barthen
A Lifetime of Dedication
Pheyland Barthen.
Pheyland Barthen started his martial arts journey at the age of 7. With over 40 years of martial arts experience, Pheyland holds a 9th degree Black Belt in American Karate, 9th degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, and holds a Black Belt in Idai Ryu Aiki Jujitsu.
In May of 2024, Troy Dorsey's Extreme Martial Arts Texas honored him with the rank of 9th degree black belt. He has over 20 years of teaching experience and has had the opportunity to train and work with 5 time World Champion Troy Dorsey, National Champion Brian Dorsey, 10th degree Black Belt Richard Morris, and has sat under the teaching of the legendary Jim Harrison, Skipper Mullins, and Carlos Machado, among others.
Pheyland is currently serving on and teaching control tactics for the Heritage of Faith Security team with team members from Kenneth Copeland Ministries.

Pheyland and his wife Natalie reside in Ft. Worth, TX and are in full time music ministry. Through Effective Martial Arts, he teaches security control tactics seminars and digital martial arts courses for beginners and advanced students.
His training emphasizes simple, effective, and practical techniques for real life situations. His philosophy focuses on control tactics that work under pressure, tailored for professional security teams, families, and individuals.
